Château Coutet 2013 – 96/100
This Barsac estate makes its first appearance in the Top 100 with a vintage that delivered humid conditions, ideal for the production of dessert wine in Bordeaux. The Baly family took over in 1977, enlisting Baron Philippr fr Rothschild S.A. for technical and commercial support since 2004 and hiring a new maître de chai, Laurier Girardot, in 2009. The blend relies heavily on Sémillon, with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, and the harvest was achieved in four tries to ensure bunches optimal noble rot.
