Vinous – Château Coutet 1989
8 July 2024

Château Coutet 1989: 93/100
The 1989 Coutet actually surpasses the bottle taste at the château three years earlier. The nose has orange Blossom, mandarin and less honeysuckle; it displays a littl more saffron here. The palate is beautifully balanced with a keen line of acidity, marmalade and quince, perhaps more viscous than previous bottles, wit a convincingly harmonius finish. This is the best bottle that I have encoutered. Tasted at the 1989 dinner at Piccolino in London.
