Vert de Vin – Sauternes/Barsac Sweet Bordeaux
17 June 2016
Château Coutet 2014 – 18,25/20
The nose is elegant, fine, racy, incisive and aromatic. It reveals notes of candied fruits combined with notes of candied white fruits, citrus, as well as a touch of yellow fruit, zests, honey, a hint of apricot and discreet touches of spices. The palate is fresh, beautifully elegant, complex, fuity, incisive/racy (Coutet style), fat, rich (but well balanced), precise and offers a beautiful tension as well as a beautiful matter. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of candied lemon, candied pineapple, tropical fruit (including passion fruit, quénette), notes of candied pear and slight notes of peach in syrup, a touch sweet mandarin associated with a few touches of lime, sweet pineapple, citrus as well as fine touches of honey, dried apricot and discreet spice. Good length and persistence in mouth. A beautiful wine!
