Vert de vin – Wine Review Bordeaux: Sauternes & Barsac
24 January 2025
Château Coutet 2022: 17.75/20 (95-96/100)
The nose is elegant racy and precise. It reveals notes of roasted pineapple, kumquat and small notes of roasted apricot associated with touches of yellow peach, quenette, spices, fine hints of almost aromatic herbs, a hint of sage as well as a subtle sappy hint, saline and a very discreet hint of pepper/spices. The palate is beautifully structured, supple, fresh, mineral and offers a tangy frame, suppleness, a beautiful racy minerality, deepness as well as unctuosity in finesse delicacy. On the palate this wibe expresses notes of kumquat and roasted apricot associated with touches of candied peach, raisin/passerillage, pulpy/candied brugnon as well as fine hints of apricot flowers, elderflowers and verbena. Presence of a discreet hint of fresh marmalade and orangette on the finish.
